Matriculated Oxford 17 May 1851. aged 18. BA 1755. Son of William of Arborfield, Berks, cler.
Died while at Egham races with his wife. Will dated 27 Mar 1772 mentions sons Arthur Smithson Dawes [crossed out] and William Dawes. Residue to wife Sarah, who is appointed executrix. Probate granted 19 Sep 1793. Widow, Sarah Dawes, swore 18 Sep 1793 that the value of the goods and chattels of the testator do not amount in value to £1,000. 'The Testator, the Revd. Arthur Dawes, clerk, was formerly of the Parish of St. Dunstan, Stepney in the Co. of Middx. but late Rector of the Parish of St. Michael, Cornhill, London & died the [?] instant.'
