Note
|
He and his wife were childless, but had Edward ("Brother Ned") and his sister Dorothy Ann living with them in 1881. They then emigrated to Pennsylvania, USA, taking Ned and Dorothy with them. Ned reurned to England, but Dorothy stayed in Pennsylvania, and married Robert Hamilton. She was living next door to James and Hannah Courtley (sic - he had obviously retained his north-east accent) in 1900, with her family, which included Beatrice (later Pillette) who used to visit Bournemouth occasionally. James applied for U.S. Naturalization in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania 1886. |
