Master Mariner. Will dated 14 Mar 1794, Probate 23 Jul 1794. At burial "at Totteridge, Herts, in his 68th year John Blackett esq of Monk Houses Northumberland."
At date of Will living at house of son-in-law John Dixon at Totteridge near Barnet, Middx. Left 50 guineas to said son-in-law for mourning, 50 guineas to son-in-law Captain James Robertson. To eldest daughter Ann (wife of John Dixon) silver punchbowl "being a gift to me by the owner of the merchant ship King of Prussia whereof I was commander". To daughter Elizabeth, wife of said James Robertson, rest of plate and furniture at Monks House[?], giving right to brother James to rent Monks House[?] on present terms of occupation. Legacies of £20 to brother James, £20 to nephew James Blackett, £10 apiece to sisters Elizabeth Johnson & Ann Coulthard [Coulter?], £10 to nephew Richard Blackett, £10 to niece Catharine Anderson.
