5th son of Christopher Blacket (Postmaster, native of Wylam in the parish of Ovingham) by his wife Alice Brigham[sic] (daughter of William Brigham[sic], native of Whitby, Yorks.)
Midshipman in the Royal Navy. Served on HMS Hotspur 1810 -1815 and on HMS Alert 1816-1817.
Addition to Surtees tree shows him as dying on his return home from Greece 18 Jul 1824.
While in Greece during its war of independence he was an acquaintance of Lord Byron, who advanced him a loan of 50 dollars and provided him with pills while he was ill.
