Some sources state she was the 2nd wife of William Angus and had 8 sons by him. Surtees, however, shows only 2 daughters, Mary and Deborah, but infers that there were male descendants, as he adds a later (line of descent not shown) "Silas Angus of ye Parish of Brancepeth yeoman, liv[in]g 1811, son of Caleb Angus late deceased. (This may have been added by Surtees in 1811, slightly after than the main Witton-le-Wear tree was prepared, as Surtees has initialled the addition.) The names of the sons are taken from the History of the Baptist Churches in the North of England by Pastor David Douglas, written in 1846. |
