Note	An officer in the army of King Charles I. Hearth Tax Roll 1666 Chris. Blackett, Hamsterley, South Bedburne, paying. Purchased “Howle Eele”, a “farmhold at Bedburn, Hamsterley” from Edward Blackett of Newcastle, merchant in January 1664/5. On 16 Sep 1669 he sold all tithes at Howle Eele in South Bedburn, Hamsterley to his namesake, Christopher Blackett of Snapegate, Hamsterley, yeoman. Acquired the manor of Wylam on the death of his father-in-law Thomas Fenwick in 1659. In 1637 Christopher Blackett instituted proceedings against Ralph Middleton, gent., (one of the executors of Thomas Fenwicke of Stamfordham, Northumberland, gentleman, deceased) to exhibit an account of the estate. (Blackett v. Middleton 1637). Inq.p.m. 1675. Inventory and bond dated 1675 of Christopher Blackett, gentleman of Hamsterley held by Durham University. Inventory total £2,572 5s 2d (with brief account of debts of £35), 28 May 1675. 1679 undated inventory of goods of Christopher Blackett unadministered by Jane Blackett, relict and administratrix, now deceased.
